Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities

Welcome!

We are developing this page with listings of Deaf social events, an ASL theater group, and faith communities with ALS-interpreted services and technology to make activities accessible to hard-of-hearing congregants.

If you know of social and support groups in the Waco-area Deaf and hard-of hearing communities, please let us know on the form at the bottom of this page.

So far we have listings for:

Facebook groups with Waco Deaf community activities

There’s always something new to do in Waco’s Deaf community. You’ll find the greatest variety of events on the Waco Deaf Events Facebook page. In July 2022 alone, members listed a picnic, an ASL-interpreted play, and bowling, miniature golfing, and roller skating events. There is also a weekly First Friday get-together, which presently meets from 6 to 9 PM at the Richland Mall. The Waco ASL Community Facebook page lists fewer events and more learning and job opportunities. Events listed on both pages welcome Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people, their family members, ASL interpreters, and anyone wanting to connect and learn.
